Ariat Close Contour Show Chap
This unlined, super-supple full-grain Ariat junior leather half chap has been designed with an elegant Spanish cut topline to elongate the leg, mimicking the look of traditional long boots making the Junior Concord Chaps versatile and suitable for use at home or in the ring.
Practical features have been incorporated into the Junior Concord Chaps, such as an easy to use rear zipper, durable suede inner panel for extra grip and lower leg stability, and a stretch skirt over the instep, to provide a streamlined and sophisticated look. For the budding young rider, a full-length elastic panel gives added stretch to maintain a close, custom-like fit, without compromising on flexibility yet still allowing for some ‘growing room’.
The Ariat Junior Concord Chaps co-ordinate perfectly with the Ariat Kid’s Devon IV short boots to give a virtually seamless, smart and comfortable footwear solution.
The Ariat Junior Concord Chap is the ideal choice when purchasing the young equestrians footwear. The Junior Concord Chap is worn with short boots to give added grip when riding and to eliminate possible chaffing and pinching from the stirrup leathers. The Ariat Junior Concord Chap also looks smart and stylish and is a suitable alternative to a traditional long boot which due to limited size options in junior ranges is not always ideal for the younger equestrian. The Junior Concord Chap is available in 2 colour options and is designed to be worn with the Ariat Junior Devon IV Paddock Boot for a seamless finish and perfect colour match. However, if there is still lots of wear left in your child’s existing jodhpur boots, the Ariat Junior Concord Chap should be able to accommodate them thanks to the stretch skirt over the instep.
The Junior Concord Chap has a suede panel on the inside, offering some extra grip, ideal when young riders are learning more advanced skills. The soft suede is comfortable against the leg and is by no means bulky, ensuring good contact can be maintained at all times. The Ariat Junior Concord Chap is crafted from unlined full-grain leather which hugs the contours of the leg giving a sleek second-skin profile, the high cut Spanish topline helps to create the look of long and elegant legs and is the image we are so used to seeing in both the Dressage arena and Showing ring. The Junior Concord chap is secured at the rear with a full-length robust YKK zip, the discreet rear zip adds to the appeal of the Junior Concord chap being used in competition. The rear of the chaps has a full-length elasticated panel which allows enough stretch to ensure a close fit and accommodate a ‘growth spurt’. The elasticated panel is also ideal for when the cold weather arrives, and heavier weight of jodhpurs may be required to keep warm. An Ariat popper at the rear of the Junior Chap gives a polished finish.

The Ariat Junior Concord Half Chaps are worn by slipping the foot into the elastic stirrup at the bottom of the chap; the elastic stirrup should settle in front of the heel of the boot with the suede on the inside and the leather on the outside of the leg. The Junior Concord Chaps are then secured by the full-length YKK zip at the rear which runs from the heel to the back of the knee.

Start by wearing the type of breeches or jodhpurs you intend to wear with your new Ariat Junior Concord Chaps and then sit in a chair with your knees bent at a 90-degree angle and your feet flat on the floor. Have a handy helper measure your calf at the widest point, always measure both as one will be a little bigger, once you have this measure your lower leg height from the floor to the tendon at the back of your knee.
