Charles Owen JS1 Jockey Skull Riding Hat


The JS1 pro from Charles Owen represents one of the best value Jockey Skull helmets on the market at the moment. The JS1 Pro is a deep fitting skull that has a shape which is suits the majority of heads, coming in standard and also a round fit in a 56cm – 58cm. The outer shell on Charles Owen’s JS1 Pro is made from an impact-resistant ABS plastic
outer meaning the hat is one of the lightest in Charles Owens range.

The hat is independently certified to VG1 and has the specification of PAS015:2011 (the most recent PAS standard) and also ASTM (up to a size 61cm) meaning that for the majority of the range this a very well specified hat as it has the triple standard usually reserved for hats at a more premium price point. The tri standard on the JS1 Pro and the fact it is a skull, (therefore has no forward protrusion) means that it is suitable for any discipline, including cross country.

The JS1 Pro from Charles Owen features a very comfortable partial faux leather harness with lace adjustment at the rear, as well as an adjustable chin strap that has a comfort suede cover and is secured using Charles Owen’s tried and tested clasp design. The whole harness is reinforced with a nylon overlay.

In terms of ventilation, the JS1 Pro feature an airflow lining, allowing air circulation to help regulate the temperature of your head, the airflow of the lining is enhanced with the 10 ventilation slots the JS1 Pro features.

Charles Owens JS1 Pro also features an unusual shell break pattern for Charles Owen, meaning the JS1 Pro is a fantastic choice for people who normally find they fall between sizes 55cm and 56cm or 59cm – 60cm with the smaller being to small and perching and the larger being too big, the JS1 Pro from Charles Owen shell breaks differ as they run 55cm – 58cm
and 59cm – 62cm (correct as of March 2020) as opposed to Charles Owen’s standard 56cm – 59cm and 60cm – 61cm.

The JS1 Pro from Charles Owen is entirely made at their factory in Wrexham by Charles Owen themselves, the same meticulous standards that are applied to all Charles Owen helmets, Charles Owen always manufacture all of their own helmets in Wrexham from start to finish, meaning that the JS1 Pro truly is Made in Britain.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major Credit & Debit cards except American Express.
 You can alsp pay for your order using PayPal and Paypal Credit.

How much does delivery cost?

Orders over £75 qualify for Free Delivery within Mainland UK. Standard Delivery is £3.95.  For orders out with Mainland UK please refer to our Delivery Policy for more information.

How can I track my parcel for delivery?

You can track your parcel by logging into your Ayr Equestrian account and viewing your order history.  You will also recieve an email notification once your order has been dispatched that will contain all the tracking information for your order.

How long will it take for my order to be delivered?

Most of our orders placed before 1pm are dispatch for next day deilvery with DPD.  However please allow up to 5 working days for your order to be delivered.  For orders required urgently please contact the shop directly on 01292 266267 and we will endeveour to help you as best we can.

How do I contact customer service?

Please email info@ayrequestrian.com with any queries you have.  We endeavour to answer emails within three
working days.  Alternatively you can call the Shop directly on 01292 66267 between 9.30am - 5.30pm daily.

When will my order be dispatched?

We aim to dispatch the vast majority of our orders placed before 1pm the same day. However please allow up to 2 working days for your order to be dispatched. 

What shipping provider do you use?

The vast majority of our orders are shipped with DPD.  In some instances parcels may also be shipped via Royal Mail or My Hermes.  All parcels are shipped with tracking details.

What is your returns policy?

Should you find on arrival of your product that it is the wrong size or that you simply no longer wish the item we are happy to refund or exchange your item/ items. All items must be returned within 14 days of being received.  Please refer to our Returns Policy page for full terms & conditions.  

Does this product come with any warranty?

Certain products are guaranteed for 12 months with a manufacturer's guarantee,
valid from the date of receipt and providing they are used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations (fair wear and tear). If you have any questions regarding the guarantee, please ask when making your order.

Can I use a gift card online?

Yes you can use your Gift Card for online purchases, simply enter your Gift Card code in the Apply Gift Card Box when checking out for it to be applied to your purchase.

Same day despatch

If you place an order before 1pm on a weekday and the item is in stock we will despatch your order that same day. Other orders are despatched on the next working day or asap but we will keep you informed. Orders will be despatched Mon-Fri, excluding bank holidays.

We provide a FREE UK delivery service within certain areas if you spend £75 or more. Please see the excluded areas below:

We may require a signature

To ensure you receive your order as quickly as possible, please make sure you give us a delivery address where someone will be available to accept it because many of our parcels require a signature upon delivery or simply will not fit through your letterbox. We will gladly deliver to a family member, neighbour or place of work if it is more convenient for you. In this case, please ensure you use the alternative address when placing your order.

If no-one is available to accept your order, a notice will be posted through your letterbox to explain how you can arrange redelivery or collection.

VAT exemption

Orders delivered to countries outside of the EU (including the Channel Islands) will have VAT deducted during checkout, after the delivery address has been entered. For Channel Islands, please ensure you choose Jersey or Guernsey and not United Kingdom in the country field.

Returns

Should you find on arrival of your product that it is the wrong size or that you simply no longer wish the item we are happy to refund or exchange your item/s. All items must be returned within 14 days of being received.

Conditions of Return

  1. The item must be in a new, re-saleable condition for us to accept the item back.
  2. The item may be returned for either exchange or refund.
  3. Where appropriate the item must not have been worn other than for size.
  4. We will not accept items back in anything other than the condition received, even if subsequently cleaned.
  5. Items must include the original packaging and swing tickets.
  6. The cost of returning the item is your responsibility.
  7. Unfortunately we are unable to accept the return of special order items.
  8. We will not accept responsibility for goods lost in transit, so please use recorded delivery.
  9. If you returning the item for an exchange please include the return postage of £4.95.
  10. Please include your name, address & contact number when returning goods - common sense but a surprising number of people forget!

Faulty Goods

Certain products are guaranteed for 12 months with a manufacturer's guarantee, valid from the date of receipt and providing they are used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations (fair wear and tear). If you have any questions regarding the guarantee, please ask when making your order.

Should you receive any faulty items please phone and let us know as soon as possible. It is unlikely but on occasion goods can get damaged in transit. In this event we will happily replace the goods and refund the return postage. Should the fault lie with the manufacturer it will be returned to them quickly for assessment and will be dealt with promptly. In some cases this may take up to 4 weeks.
