Charles Owen Ayrbrush Pinstripe Riding Hat
One of Charles Owens most recent additions to the range is the Charles Owen Ayrbrush with Pinstripe. Since its launch, it has quickly established itself as one of the most popular hats in the Charles Owen range.
At a Glance the Ayrbrush Pinstripe is a fantastic choice, it is an aesthetically pleasing shallow fitting, well-ventilated hat featuring a removable liner and selection of head shapes. It is also a tri standard hat, featuring ASTM, PAS015 and VG1 Standards. The Pinstripe has a full faux leather GRpx harness, clasp closure and adjustable chin strap for optimum comfort. For more in-depth information, please read on.
Aesthetically the Ayrbrush Pinstripe carefully treads the line between a modern design on a traditional shape, making the Ayrbrush Pinstripe both subtle and elegant as a riding helmet. Its Matt paint finish, something which is exclusive in Charles Owen to the Ayrbrush and Reflection Ranges, complement the two pinstripes which run from front to back on their indentations. You can specify the pinstripes on the Ayrbrush Pinstripe to be Rose Gold, Chrome or Silver, while paint Colours are available in black or navy as stock, you can order a bespoke Grey or brown for no additional cost (allow 4 – 6-week wait). The matt paint used on the Ayrbrush Pinstripe is truly mark resistant. It makes the hat extremely durable; the paint is specially sourced in Britain for its anti-scratch properties, specifically for Charles Owen's Ayrbrush Helmet Range.
The harness on the Pinstripe is the same fantastic harness used across most of Charles Owen's premium range. The GRpx designed harness has two suction cups at the rear which grip below the occipital bun (the lump on the back of your head) giving a feeling of security but also freedom as it does not impede movement. The adjustable chin strap, along with the adjustment in the rear lace, means that you can fully adjust the harness to achieve the perfect fit. The harness comes in a faux leather material ensuring it is very comfortable to wear even for prolonged periods, in addition to this it will come in colour to correspond with the exterior paint colour of your hat, want a flesh coloured harness? Phone us, and we can talk you through how to place this type of order.
In respect to fit, the Charles Owen Ayrbrush Pinstripe uses one of
Charles Owen's most popular templates. It means that if you already have
a Pro II Plus, elumenayr, elumen8 this hat should fit almost identical and fits similar to the Ayr 8 plus from Charles Owen. In the core sizes, 56cm – 59cm Charles Owen's Ayrbrush Pinstripe comes in both a standard fit (traditionally more oval) and round fit, to ensure it will fit an array of head shapes. Outer shell sizes are on one of Charles Owen's most common structures, 54cm – 55cm are on one shell, 56cm – 59cm is on a separate shell, 60 – 61 cm is on another with 62cm + being on the largest shell. What this means is if you measure close to a shell break, it is advisable to try both sizes if you have not had a Charles Owen helmet before. If you require more advice on what size of Charles Owen helmet to get, please do not hesitate to get in touch for more personalised information.
Ventilation and hygiene are at the forefront of Charles Owen's Ayrbrush Pinstripe with a full drop out cup liner. It means that the whole liner removes, not just the headband, ensuring that the entire lining of the
Ayrbrush Pinstripe can be removed and washed on a cool wash, and if it becomes completely worn out you can replace it. However, it is essential to point out that it does not extend the life of the hat, and you should replace your riding helmet after every fall or every 3-5 years. The other fantastic feature you can do is size change your helmet using the liners, provided you stay within the same shell size as stated above. In terms of ventilation, it uses Charles Owen's tried and tested ten ventilation slots, six front and four rear. The arrangement of the slots ensures optimal airflow through the helmet and help regulate the temperature of your head no matter the duration of your ride.
The Ayrbrush Pinstripe collection from Charles Owen is a tri standard hat meaning that three testing houses independently verify it to three separate standards, VG1, ASTM and PAS015. It means the hat is suitable and over-spec for any discipline you wish to compete in; the only exclusion is cross country as the Ayrbrush Pinstripe features a fixed peak; therefore is excluded on those grounds. The aforementioned peak is collapsible upon impact, however sturdy enough that it will not easily snap with everyday use like some other hat manufacturers. The Ayrbrush Pinstripe features a fibreglass outer shell meaning that over and above the standard's the foam is tested too, the fibreglass outer will flex and absorb the impact before passing it onto the foam, the other material used for helmets is plastic which characteristically shatters
upon impact.

Shop Safe
When you shop with us, you can choose to check out using either PayPal or SagePay, both of which are established leaders in the field of secure transaction processing.
Braintree Payments
When you shop with us, our secure server encrypts all of your personal information, including name, address and credit card information. We use Braintree Payments which is an industry leader in secure internet transactions. Braintree Payments is used by thousands of other UK businesses for transaction security.
All transaction information passed between our website and the Braintree Payment System is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and all messages from SagePay are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing passed to SagePay can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.
Once on the Braintree system, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data they hold is extremely secure and they are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.
SagePay has multiple private links into the banking network that are completely separate from the Internet and which do not cross any publicly accessible networks. Any cardholder information sent to the banks and any authorisation message coming back is secure and cannot be tampered with.
No individuals within our company or Braintree are able to decrypt transaction information or cardholder data. Their systems only allow access to our most senior staff and only in extenuating circumstances (such as investigations of Card Fraud by the Police). Your card information is secure even from their own employees because the systems never display the full card numbers, even on administration screens.
PayPal
We use the industry leading internet payment company PayPal to protect your card details and protect from fraud. PayPal keep your information safe. We will never actually see your bank or credit card details, they are passed in a highly secure way directly to PayPal for processing. Industry-leading fraud prevention is just one of the reasons PayPal is a safe way to pay online. PayPal uses proprietary technology and constantly innovates to monitor transactions and maintain a secure payment system. To help you keep track of your account activity, PayPal sends an email confirmation of every account transaction. For more information visit PayPal here.
